Statement of Faith
“We are starstuff. We are the universe made manifest, trying to figure itself out.” – Satai Delenn
This is generally the part of a website that has general assertions of beliefs that are made to stand out and allow you the reader to reinforce your own sense of what “you” believe. Here at No Reservations, we will not do that, instead, we welcome you to come with your questions, thoughts, beliefs, and disbeliefs, so that together, in community with one another, you can find your own path. A path that will allow you to make sense of the things that you have been taught and the lived experience of living out your faith in the real world. Too many times the dogmas and theological statements of our youth, clash with the lived realities that force us to rethink what we believe and why we believe. Some of these religious absurdities have followed our faith traditions for hundreds of years and have become so ingrained into the fabric of what people think means to be a “Christian” that to break away from them, one must shed themselves of almost everything they have learned and start anew. While other parts of our faith, are tied to the “world turned right-side-up” (Luke 12:50) ministry of Jesus and to those who felt the impact of experiencing the awakening of the Christ through his life, sacrifice, and spiritual resurrection, whose result was so world-shattering that it inspired continual moments of liberation for 2000 years and in the hearts of billions of people. Therefore, in an attempt to ignite conversation, questions, intrigue, and for some anger, let us explore some basic concepts of faith.
