Welcome to No Reservations
“Do. Or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda
My name is Harold Marrero, and I am the executive director, pastor, and one of the founders of this dynamic group. This group was born out of the need for an inclusive community in the Miami-Dade area that looked beyond Christian denominational/sectarian lines and imagined the ability to be a faith community beyond the confines of a four-walled building. That being said, it is our number one priority to be a social-faith group that is open to all, regardless of gender, color, sexual-orientation/expression, and even faith or lack thereof. When it comes to the communities that we serve, we are not a group for those who already have a faith home/community. Instead, we are a group for all of those who have wandered off from the traditional model of faith, and have become labeled by society as spiritual “nones” or the “spiritual but not religious.”
As a group, we do not claim to own any spiritual truth, nor do we subscribe to any one way of being Christian or spiritual. Instead, we are here to give you community and provide a safe space for those who are seeking to come and ask questions, while experiencing the joys of an authentic intersectional community of friends that wish to live out their experience of faith through active participation in the world today. We are a group that believes it is our responsibility to become active participants in the world when it comes to social justice and social commentary. And it is through the connections that we build with one another, that empowers us to experience the totality of the human condition, in the shared moments that we have with one another. Moments that include shared meals and theological discourse, a relaxed form of sacred scripture study, making food for the homeless populations of Miami, breaking down of dogmatic themes and toxic theologies, and fellowship moments through our themed events and parties.
Therefore I welcome you all to take a look at our website, visit our social media channels, and explore our Re-Discovering faith section. If you have already read this far, then you may be one of those in our world today who has been left behind and, in many ways, forgotten by the traditional models of church. You may also be one of the growing numbers of people who have checked out of the strict binaries of the classical faith community model and have abandoned dogmatic theological themes that no longer work for humanity in the 21st-century. Or you may be one of the many people who have been deeply hurt by a faith that claims to follow the path of love, yet has rejected all that you are based on bad biblical interpretations and beliefs that claim that you are not a whole person or that your the truth who you are, is incompatible with the reality of who God is.
Well, I am here to tell you that nothing is farther from the truth. And if you relate to any of the above statements? Or if you are looking for a place to call home and to be surrounded by like-minded seekers? Then No Reservations Group Miami is the place for you. So feel free to ask questions, feel free to call us, and feel free to visit us for any of our planned events. Together we can set the tone and imagine the Christianity of the 21st-century. Together, we can reflect the intersectional Christ inside us all.

Harold Marrero
Lead Pastor & Spiritual Director of No Reservations Group
As I said above, my name is Harold Marrero and I was born in Pinar del Rio, Cuba. Faith has always been an essential part of my life, and ever since I was 15 years old, I have been working within the church system. The church is an institution that has functioned as an inspiration for social change and the betterment of all humanity and, in some cases, has and is still functioning as a stumbling block for people seeking to make sense of their pull towards the divine. My personal experience with the church has been one that is mixed with times of great joy and feelings of belongingness and with times of sorrow and feelings of rejection. I have seen both the good and the bad of the faith that at its spiritual core are the words and teaching of Jesus, whose ministry was one of empowering the disenfranchised and turning the conventional wisdom of the first-century Roman world on its head. It is that wisdom that continues to drive my work in ministry, knowing that as a Queer Hispanic person of faith, my intersectional realities can serve as moments of conversations and mirroring for those who have been rejected by their intolerant religious institutions and family networks. I believe that faith in the 21st-century can inspire collective movements for change in the minds of people who feel that there is something wrong with the way things are and have the courage, vision, and wisdom to do something about it.
